Lehigh County EMA has recertifed its StormReady status with the National Weather Service, a certification we've held since 2000. This recertification reinforces our commitment to severe weather awareness and preparedness.

In a disaster, many families have pets that need to be cared for or evacuated. Some shelters will not allow pets to come along due to allergies, pet supplies not on hand, etc. These animals should not be left behind.
Thanks to LVCART they don't have to be left behind and uncared for. This Response Team will ensure that pets are taken care of whether it's because of an evacuation, an MVA with a pet involved and many other situations.
I encourage everyone to check out their website and learn a little about them and what they do. First responders should certainly be aware that this is another resource that is available to them during any disaster, fire, flood, etc.
